TRE8TV: Connectivity issues from Spectrum, Xfinity, and other ISP's

Greetings,

The last few days there has been an increase of connectivity issue reports from clients using Spectrum, Xfinity, and other ISP's. The problem arises from a recent firewall update on these Internet Providers, to workaround this problem you must perform the following fix,

  • Go into your Spectrum/Xfinity/ app
  • Go to security/advanced settings
  • Turn off firewall, it may ask to allow suspicious applications, confirm.
  • Hard reboot your Modem/Router by unplugging for 30 seconds, connect it again.

If you are still unable to connect, please reach out to your ISP and they will help you troubleshoot the issue.
